Colors: Red and Black. For a long period of my life, my favorite color combination was red and black. No, this didn’t have anything to do with the Bulldogs, but it was about the colors being edgy and strong. My room throughout high school had a black and red motif. I think Georgia picked a solid color combination to be associated with the school.

Black usually represents something sinister and I think that hits the nail on the head for UGA. As a Florida fan, I see Georgia as our archrival and the most evil school out there. Anything to come out of Athens at this point is particularly wicked and it’s hard for me to root for the Dawgs at any time. If you’re a Georgia fan, however, black may reveal a different kind of sentiment. Black is also associated with class and dignity, although it’s hard for me to see the Bulldogs in that light, especially after the 2007 game.

Once again, red is the color of passion and blood, something that’s most definitely needed in athletics. It symbolizes danger, anger, adventure, and even love, if you think about it. It’s the perfect pair to go along with black. Those two colors together symbolize everything an athletics program, and school to a certain degree, would like to demonstrate. The love aspect of the color red is also fitting, given that there are no more passionate fans of college sports than those in SEC country, UGA included.
