Offensive Lineman George Brown Chooses Florida with Live Baby Gator

Florida picked up a big offensive line commitment Friday as George Brown, Jr. chose UF over Kentucky, and Alabama. It wasn’t just that Brown picked Florida. It’s the way he did. Brown chose the Gators by pulling out a live baby gator:

This is definitely the most creative way a recruit has picked Florida this year, and maybe ever. It rivals running back Isaiah Crowell’s announcement when he chose Georgia by holding up a bulldog puppy. The difference: Gators are extremely dangerous and bulldog pups are just cute. On the football field, the 6-6. 253 pound Brown projects to an offensive tackle prospect. Although he’ll need to put on some weight, he shows quickness on his feet for a big guy and the ability to play through the play. He’s a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports composite ratings. Brown ranks as the 42nd OT, 18th player in Ohio, and 364th player overall in the 2015 recruiting class. Brown becomes the second straight Ohio prospect to commit to Florida. Linebacker Jerome Baker chose Florida earlier this month. Brown hails from Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati. He could also be the beginning of an incredible haul for the Gators. With Friday Night Lights taking place this weekend, Florida will have a chance to impress the nation’s top talent. LB Adonis Thomas may be the next domino to fall as he’s set to commit on August 1st. After some shuffling of recruits, Florida now has nine commitments for the class of 2015. UPDATE: See the full video of Brown’s commitment here (h/t Thomas Goldkamp):
