100 Days of Florida Football: No. 38 Kerollin Francois

Redshirt freshman defensive back Kerollin Francois checks into our countdown at number 38. Francois had always been looking for a roster spot with the Florida Gators and got his wish when Will Muschamp offered him in February of his senior season. Muschamp promised him a spot on the 105-man camp roster as a walk-on, and Francois couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

Francois is one of those players who excelled on the football field and in the classroom throughout high school. During his time at Forest Hill High School in Lake Worth, FL, he was a member of the National Honor Society as well as a member of the Palm Beach Post All-Academic team his senior year. On the gridiron, he received Palm Beach Post All-Area team honors, along with being named a team captain and the Falcons’ Defensive MVP his senior year. With a 3.63 GPA and a 4.48 40-yard dash, Francois was getting it done on and off the field.

Even though the 5-11, 192 pounder may not see the field, he can still provide some depth in the secondary on the practice field and scout teams. He’s got an uphill battle to get playing time, but it’s not completely out of the question. He’s got decent size and speed to see the field, and he obviously has the smarts off the field. Either way, we’re glad to see Kerollin Francois on this list because it signifies football season is only 38 days away.
