While we are counting down to kickoff, Gator fans were united last Tuesday in watching and celebrating the University’s National Championship in softball, the second championship of the season, and 33rd overall.
During and after the game, Gator players past and present were expressing their joy on Twitter. Among the celebratory tweets, defensive back Marcus Maye turned his attention to football. He said, “Gator softball presh8 the motivation…now let’s get to work football!!”
For those who aren’t too Twitter savvy, presh8 means appreciate.
And Marcus Maye (@alldayMAYE) is just one of many Florida football players who got extra motivation for the upcoming season. Between the gymnastics and softball championships, Maye and his teammates have seen excitement, pep rallies, trophy presentations, and championship banners added around campus.
There is no player on the current roster that was a part of football’s most recent championship (2008), but they are all hungry and motivated to be a part of the next one. In 84 days a pack of motivated Gators will begin their next title quest.
