Opposing Teams at the Mac. Florida finished off their home slate of the regular season Tuesday night with a convincing win against the USF Bulls. USF was just the latest opponent to go down on the Gators home diamond. UF finished the regular season going 23-11 at McKethan Stadium. Not a bad record for the team with the toughest schedule in collegiate baseball.
Joe Haden Gets Paid. Gator great now Cleveland Brown Joe Haden has quickly become one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. Over his three-year career, Haden has 13 interceptions and 68 passes defensed, which combined are tops in the league. He was named to his first Pro Bowl last season and now he’s getting paid like one. The deal is a five year extension worth $68 million, including up to $45 million guaranteed. Haden tweeted out himself signing the contract:

Dominique Easley Blessed and Honored to be a Patriot. Easley took his introductory photos and talked with the media following the New England Patriots drafting him. Better get used to not seeing “2” on his jersey. He said he’s going to wear number 74 and it’s “blessing and honor to be a Patriot”. (Tarringo Vaughan, Springfield Sports Examiner)
Stipe Zunic Name SEC Field Athlete of the Week. Shot put thrower Stipe Zunic was named the SEC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Seminole Twilight Invite this past weekend. Zunic threw a personal best 19.92m/65-4.25 to take the title at the meet. The top-ranked track & field teams will compete this weekend in the SEC Outdoor Championships in Lexington. (GatorZone)
Men’s Tennis’ Florent Diep ITA Southeast Senior of the Year. The unquestioned leader of Florida’s men’s tennis team Florent Diep was named the ITA Southeast Senior of the Year after a phenomenal season. Diep led the team with 28 singles wins on the season, including 11 over ranked opponents. Men’s tennis is back in action at Ohio State in the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 Friday. (GatorZone)
Brianna Morgan and Kourtney Keegan Pick Up ITA Awards. It wasn’t just the men’s side collecting hardware from the ITA. Kourtney Keegan was named the ITA Southeast Rookie Player of the Year and Brianna Morgan was named the ITA Player to Watch. The women’s tennis team will compete at No. 10 Vanderbilt in the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 Thursday. (GatorZone)
