The Florida Gators (37-8) dominated the North Carolina State Wolfpack in a 10-0 game that was called on run rules.
Florida didn’t waste any time getting on the scoreboard. In the top of the opening inning Lauren Haeger drilled a two RBI double that scored Kelsey Stewart and Kirsti Merritt. In the same frame Brianna Little went yard with a three-run homer.
Kirsti Merritt scored again in the second to push the lead to 6-0. In the third inning the Gators got a run from–guess who–Kirsti Merritt, who tripled and scored on another RBI from Haeger.
The rest of the runs came in the fourth inning, where two more Gators scored on an error, and the final run came from the bat of Justine McLean.
The Wolfpack only managed two hits in their shutout loss, while the Orange and Blue scored their 10 runs on nine hits.
Hannah Rogers (18-6) got the win over the ACC opponent. UF will travel to College Station for their weekend series against the Aggies; the first game will be played on Friday night at 8:00.
