Florida Gators Rebound With 7-1 Win Over Alabama

After dropping a 4-2 contest to the Crimson Tide on Friday, the top ranked Gators responded with a furious 7-1 victory to force a third-straight rubber match.

Lauren Haeger made the game 1-0 in the second on a run where the pitcher did all the work for her; after drawing a walk, Haeger advanced and scored on three illegal pitches. After Haeger scored, Taylor Schwarz crushed a solo homer, her fifth of the year, to stretch the lead to 2-0.

Hannah Rogers allowed a solo homer in the fourth, but the Tide would never score again.

The Gators (30-3, 5-3 SEC) took out an insurance policy, scoring five runs in the fifth, thanks in part to a Grand slam from Bailey Castro.

The rubber match will be played in Gainesville at 1:00 Sunday.
