Georgia Southern Eagles. Georgia Southern, Florida’s opponent Saturday in The Swamp, plays within the Football Championship Series (FCS) division of college football. Starting next year, the Eagles will join the Football Bowl Series (FBS) and the Sun Belt Conference. They will be eligible for bowl games starting in 2015. Georgia Southern’s succeeds off of the triple option, which makes a defense decide between three players who will carry the ball.

Women’s Basketball Falls to Florida State. Florida rallied in the second half, but came up short against Florida State, 76-68. Sophomore January Miller scored a career-high 19 points and freshman Ronni Williams added a double-double (14 points, 12 rebounds) for the Gators in the loss. Here’s a video recap of the game:

A Gators’ Perspective of the Jameis Winston Case. The Jameis Winston sexual assault case is a difficult one to cover as a Gator, but Alligator Army’s Andy Hutchins does a really good job of echoing the thoughts of Gator fans. The story is a must read and you can find it here. (h/t Alligator Army)

Schedule for Friday. Busy day for Gators on Friday. The No. 1 Men’s and No. 4 Women’s Swimming and Diving Teams are in their second day at the Ohio State Buckeye Invitational all day today. The seventh-ranked Gator Volleyball team takes on LSU at 7 pm in the O’Dome. The matches can be seen on Sun Sports for those of you in Florida. And finally, the second-seeded Florida Soccer team plays at Duke in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The match starts at 7:30 pm. You can catch it on the radio at ESPN 850.

Channing Crowder Pees His Pants. Former Florida Gators and Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder admitted on an NFL Films Presents segment on obscure trivia that he peed his pants every time he took the football field. Not sure much more needs to be said. Check out segment here (h/t Awful Announcing):
