One-Handed Zach Hodskins Commits As Preferred Walk-On To The Florida Gators

Rob Foldy-USA TODAY Sports

One handed star Zach Hodskins took the basketball world by storm back in August when coach Billy Donovan extended a preferred walk-on spot to the Milton, Ga product.

After a visit to Florida this weekend, which included watching the Gators practice, Hodskins committed to play basketball, as a preferred walk-on, for Donovan after concluding his senior year at Milton High School.

As a preferred walk-on, Hodskins would obviously not get the same benefits as a scholarship athlete, but still is guaranteed a roster spot on one of the most historic college basketball programs in the country.

Hodskins, although born without the bottom of his left arm, has made defenders look silly with his effortless display of phenomenal dribbling. He isn’t a bad shooter either; according to Only Gators, he makes over 60 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Hodskins joins both Chris Chiozza (Memphis, TN), 42nd on ESPN100, and Brandone Francis (Jacksonville, FL), 27th on ESPN100, in the Gators’ commitment class of 2014.
