Florida Gators Fall To Missouri Tigers

This was Will Muschamp football at its finest.

1st Half

First play of the game. Maty Mauk goes deep and L’Damian Washington had burned Vernon Hargreaves III. After Washington hauled in the pass, Cody Riggs nailed him and was flagged and then ejected for targeting. Next play, Mauk threw a 20 yard touchdown pass to Bud Sasser. After Frankie Velez connected on a 23 yard FG, making him perfect on the season, the Gators’ defense forced Missouri to settle for a 43 yard field goal. A huge stop. Later, Missouri’s Andrew Baggett nailed another field goal.

Score: Missouri 13 – 3 Florida

2nd Half

Solomon Patton returned the second half opening kick off 109 yards (including endzone) for a touchdown. It provided a much needed spark for the Gators. Florida drew within 3 points but Missouri quickly jumped back with a six-yard Henry Josey touchdown run. After another Missouri field goal, Kelvin Taylor capped off an impressive drive with a 20 yard touchdown run to the left side. Following a 50 yard Henry Josey run, the Gators’ defense made a big stop and held Missouri to a field goal. After a Tyler Murphy fumble, Maty Mauk scrambled for a Tigers’ touchdown.

Score: Missouri 26 – 17 Florida
