- Florida fans aren’t the only ones noticing Vernon Hargreaves’ III phenomenal play at corner. Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema took notice of VH3 as well. “He’s [Hargreaves] everything you want in the position. He’s very confident, very aggressive,” Bielema said in his SEC teleconference. He also added this “I don’t think there’s any one guy you want to go after. They’re all pretty good.” One thing’s for certain, Bielema isn’t underestimating the Gators.
- This season, Florida started a new take on an old tradition. For every home game, the Gators are having a guest Mr. Two Bits. This week, PGA Tour golfer and former Gator Chris DiMarco will be doing the pregame honors before Florida takes on SEC foe Arkansas. DiMarco has 3 PGA tour wins and finished 2nd in the 2006 Open Championship. (Chris Harry on Gatorzone)
- Florida’s baseball schedule for the 2014 season was released today. The Gators open their season with a three game series in Gainesville against Maryland. During a stretch from March 14 – May 11, Kevin O’Sullivan’s squad will face off against five SEC opponents (Arkansas, LSU, Georgia, Missouri, and Vanderbilt). In addition, Florida will play host to FGCU and Illinois during a four day tournament from Feb. 27 – March 2. (Full Schedule)
- Florida is facing off against Arkansas in the Swamp on Saturday night and according to Trey Burton, they will be wearing blue on blue uniforms. The last time the Gators wore both blue jerseys and pants was in 2012 when they crushed South Carolina 44-11.
