Florida Gators at Kentucky Wildcats Game Recap

1st Quarter

  • Florida received the kick. Tyler Murphy led the Gators on an impressive first drive (93 yards, 13 plays) and Matt Jones capped it off with a two yard TD run.
  • The Wildcats promptly marched down the field. They then faked a field goal (LSU esque) for a touchdown.

Score: Gators 7 – 7 Wildcats

2nd Quarter

  • Tyler Murphy threw a pass to Trey Burton for a nine yard touchdown reception.
  • The Gators later drove down the field and Murphy ran for a 5 yard touchdown run.

Score: Gators 21 – 7 Wildcats

3rd Quarter

  • Tyler Murphy threw a pick but made a great tackle on the return (silver lining).
  • Jabari Gorman put a big hit on Montgomery. Announcers claim targeting, but it was not called.
  • Vernon Hargreaves intercepted his third pass of the season. He is living up to, and exceeding, all the hype.

Score: Gators 21 – 7 Wildcats

4th Quarter

  • Matt Jones started running a lot better.
  • Austin Hardin nails a 33 yard field goal.
  • Kentucky turned it over on downs after failing on 4th and 28.

Score: Gators 24 – 7 Wildcats
