Q & A With Canes Warning

In anticipation of the Florida Gators’ match up against the Miami Hurricanes, Hail Florida Hail has conducted a Q & A with Matthew Osborne of Canes Warning.

LJ: What concerns you most about Miami this week?

MO: After watching the Hurricanes on Friday night, I can honestly say that I am nervous about how Stephen Morris is going to perform.  Morris looked uncomfortable and it seemed that he and the receivers were not on the same page.  Miami’s passing game was supposed to be their strength going into this season and I was unimpressed with it against FAU.  Dropped passes and missed throws – could have been first game jitters, who knows, but I hope that they correct this come kickoff.

LJ: What part of the Cane’s game are you most confident about?

MO: As of now, Duke Johnson and the running game.  The kid is a natural athlete and is capable of making the big play every time he touches the ball.

LJ: What do you see Duke Johnson doing against a tough Gators defense?

MO: I expect Duke Johnson to be Duke Johnson. If the Gators’ defense focuses on stopping Johnson that will open the passing game.  Going to be a tough challenge for the Gators’ defense, one that I am anxiously awaiting.

LJ: Key to the game? What will win it or lose it for the Canes?

MO: Stopping Driskel.  If the Hurricanes’ defense is capable of applying pressure and putting a spy on Driskel to limit his rushing, that will be key for Miami.  Shutting down Driskel is priority No. 1.

LJ: Who scares you most on the Gators?

MO: Certainly Driskel, but Mack Brown proved to be a force to be reckoned with against Toledo.  I also like Vernon Hargreaves III – kid is going to be a stud.  If I am Miami, I would be nervous about the Gators’ cornerbacks.
