The Florida Gators men’s basketball team added two top rated players on the first day of the early signing period when Kasey Hill and Chris Walker faxed in their Letters Of Intent.
Hill, a 6’1″ 170 lb point guard, from Monteverde Academy in Eustis is the second ranked point guard and ninth overall prospect according to espn.com. Similarly, Walker, from Bonifay Holmes County high school, is considered the tenth best overall prospect and fourth rated power forward in the nation by espn.com.
The two were teammates on the summer traveling circuit team Florida Team Elite where they developed some good chemistry and camaraderie.
Hill is a quick, athletic point guard who can get in the lane and make plays either at the basket or dishing out assists. Donovan said Hill is “clearly” one of the best point guards in the country and should “thrive” in this offense.
Walker, 6’10” 190, is a highly athletic forward who provides flash and can make plays in the open court. Donovan said Walker will need to work on his scoring but he likes his energy and enthusiam and is excited to get him.
Despite having only two signees in the early period the Gators recruiting class is still rated fifth best by espn.com. Donovan may not be done just yet either. He’s still recruiting a pair of top rated forwards in Jabari Parker and Julius Randle who have interest in the Gators but aren’t expected to sign until April.
