The No. 1 Florida Gators’ baseball team was too much for the No. 4 Florida State Seminoles for the second time this season. On Tuesday night, Florida defeated FSU 4-1 to improve to 23-2 on the season. The Seminoles dropped to 21-4 in the process. Wins are good; wins over your biggest rival are better. The Gators have to feel good about themselves after three-straight victories over South Carolina and FSU.
The Gators got all four RBI from two players – Casey Turgeon and Vickash Ramjit. The pair had two RBI a piece and sparked the victory with their contributions to the three-run sixth inning. Johnny Magliozzi got the win in relief to improve to 3-0 on the season, while Austin Maddox recorded his eight save.
The Gators and ‘Noles face off again this season on April 10. In that game, Florida will look to sweep FSU in the spread-throughout-the-season series.
