Florida Gators Still No. 1 In Baseball America Top 25

The Florida Gators maintained the No. 1 spot in the Baseball America Top 25 for another week. Despite adding a loss to their record, the Gators managed to go 3-1 last week with two wins over the two-time defending champion South Carolina Gamecocks. Those wins improved Florida’s record against teams in the top 25 to 9-2. With an overall record of 22-2, nine wins against ranked opponents is impressive to say the least.

The Gators were followed by two familiar teams – Stanford and Arkansas – while their biggest rival – Florida State – jumped two spots to claim the No. 4 spot. No. 10 Kentucky entered the top 10 for the first time all season despite recording their first loss last week. The Wildcats are an impressive and eye-opening 24-1.

South Carolina was the only team to drop out of the top 10. After losing two to Florida and recording another loss earlier in the week, the Gamecocks fell from No. 8 to No. 11. Georgia Tech and Texas State had it worse though. Both teams fell out of the top 25; the Yellow Jackets all the way from No. 15.
