Florida Gators Baseball Remains No. 1 In Baseball America’s Top 25

by Florida Gators Baseball

The Florida Gators remained the top-ranked baseball team in the nation after winning two out of three against the Cal State Fullerton Titans in their season-opening series. Despite dropping the final game on Sunday, the Gators held on to the top spot. The Titans, on the other hand, fell out of Baseball America’s Top 25.

One loss wasn’t enough to knock Florida out of the top spot even though the other three teams in the top four are all still undefeated. Stanford, South Carolina and Arkansas all held on to their spots. All told, the SEC has seven teams in the top 25; five of which rank in the top nine. Add No. 6 Texas A&M to the mix and the future looks very bright for the conference.

The schedule will be the ultimate test for the Gators. Florida faces Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday and then No. 19 UCF on Wednesday. In the upcoming weeks alone, the Gators travel to No. 14 Miami and host No. 18 Florida State. Then the SEC schedule begins. Florida has the talent to get to and win the College World Series, but it will be a tough and challenging road.
